RVT CrossFit Kids

Based on the principle of mechanics, consistency and then intensity, CrossFit Kids emphasizes good movement throughout childhood and adolescence. Consistently good mechanics translates to physical literacy, enhanced sports performance and fewer sports injuries for kids. Not only that, a vast body of research indicates that exercise is beneficial to cognitive function, which means consistent adherence to the program can have a positive impact on children’s academic achievement.

CrossFit Kids is meant to be BIG fun for all ages. Broad-Inclusive-general fun. Fun means we provide an active alternative to sedentary pursuits, which means less childhood obesity and all-around better health for your children. Further, the needs of fifth graders and high-school varsity wrestlers differ by degree and not kind; the program is scalable for any age or experience level and accounts for the varied maturation status one can find in a class full of kids.

All classes are instructor-led. Rivet offers a clean, warm and welcoming environment for parents to hangout while their little (and not-so-little) ones have fun while getting fit, sweaty and tired.

Rivet offers classes for two age groups:

RVT CrossFit Tweens

The Rivet Tweens program is for children in late elementary and junior high school (grades 4 through 7) ages 9 to 12 yearsRivet Tweens are 30-minute classes that take place 5pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Warm up: Relays & Games
Strength: Goblet Squat  6-6-6-6-6
Odd Minute – 30 seconds max jump rope
Even Minute – 30 seconds max Burpees

RVT CrossFit Teens

The Rivet Teens program focuses on high school age children (grades 8 through 12+) ages 13 to 19 years. Strength and Olympic lifting will factor more into the Teens CrossFit program. Rivet Teens are 30-minute classes that take place 5pm Tuesday and Thursday. There is also a Saturday morning 10:30am class.

Strength: DB Front Squat 6-6-6-6-6
20 Single Unders (Jump Rope)
10 Burpees
:30 rest
